“Get in loser, we’re going to the movies”. Tina Fey’s quintessential teen comedy is the next film to grace our 196-inch outdoor screen come October 9th.
The film follows Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) who was educated in Africa by her scientist parents, before moving to the suburbs of Illinois, where she finally gets to experience public school and the cruel, tacit laws of popularity that divide her fellow students into tightly-knit cliques.
She unwittingly finds herself in the good graces of an elite group of ‘cool’ students dubbed ‘the Plastics’, and she soon realises how her shallow group of new friends earned their nickname.
Mean Girls has gone on to gain a loyal following, and has left an indelible imprint on the genre, and popular culture more widely. It has been praised for its clever writing and brilliant cast, elevating it out of it’s familiar clichéd surroundings.
The film is due to begin at 8pm sharp, but we advise guests to arrive at around 7:30pm so they have more than enough time to settle in and collect any food or drink from our bar.
Food & Drink tickets are available below for £10 a head, and include any meal from Empress Market’s eclectic menu plus a beer or wine of your choice. Drink-only tickets are £5, whilst standard entry (minus food & drink) to all our screenings is absolutely free when you sign up to our film club below.
