Pitch Cinema: Being John Malkovich Screening - 17th July

On Wednesday 17th July, we’re throwing Spike Jonze’s quirky cult-comedy favourite onto our big outdoor screen, a tale charting three young, interconnected New Yorkers’ warped journey into the mind of famous actor, John Malkovich.

The film revolves around an unemployed puppeteer, Craig Schwartz (John Cusack), who – while temping as a file clerk on the seventh and a half floor of a strange office building, stumbles across a small door that leads to the center of the mind of John Malkovich (played by, you guessed it, John Malkovich).

It’s not long before Schwartz, along with his beautiful yet aloof co-worker Maxine (Catherine Keener) get the bright idea to monetise this tantalising window into another world, much to Malkovich’s ire as he slowly loses control. The film, predictably, descends further and further into the surreal from this point onwards.

It’s gearing up to be a surreal night of mind-bending classic cinema, so why not come on down? The film will start at 8pm sharp, but we recommend that guests arrive by 7:30pm to ensure they have enough time to collect drinks and snacks from the bar beforehand.
